iDEA Supports Problem Gambling Awareness Month in March

iDEA and its members are proud to support Problem Gambling Awareness Month and the initiative’s mission to create awareness and promote resources for those affected. Legal, responsible iGaming and online sports betting can prevent problem gambling issues before they arise and helps players when they do. Legal iGaming operators are required to provide safe, responsible experiences to consumers. Responsible gaming is a core value of iDEA and its members, who all adhere to iDEA’s Responsible Gaming Pillars. Meanwhile, legalized iGaming requires operators to employ technological tools that protect consumers and ensure responsible gaming. From technology that limits the amount of money and time players can spend on iGaming to sophisticated Know Your Customer programs, legal iGaming providers use a wealth of technological tools to keep consumers safe. Learn more about the state-of-the-art technology that protects iGaming consumers here. Problem Gambling Awareness Month was created 20 years ago by the National Council on Problem Gambling. According to the NCPG, approximately 2 million adults in the U.S. meet the criteria for pathological gambling while another 4-6 million are estimated to have mild or moderate gambling problems. In one of the most highly regulated industries in the U.S., legal iGaming operators have integrity and strive to be responsible, welcoming safeguards that protect all consumers.
