Alabama Lawmakers Expected to Introduce Comprehensive Gambling Bills

The legislative session begins next week in Alabama, and lawmakers are expected to introduce comprehensive gambling bills to authorize casinos, state-run lottery, and mobile sports betting. They will not permit online casino games.
The bill author has said that any bill introduced will have the support of House Republican leadership. In the past, gaming expansion bills have died in the House. Any bill passed by the legislature will need to be affirmed by Alabama voters in November.
