As Expected, iGaming Not Included in the Proposed House or Senate Budgets.

An effort to increase competition and lower tax rates for mobile sports betting remain in the proposed budgets, but it is unclear whether they will remain in the package or how the current (51%) tax rate will be reduced because of concerns on how a reduction would impact overall revenues.
Also included in the proposed budget is expansion of downstate casinos, which is viewed as the highest priority issue to address.
Senator Addabbo was very complimentary of iDEA and our efforts thus far. He wants us to be his ally moving forward on this issue. We hope to have an opportunity to testify on the bill in the Senate later this year.
