Federal Judge Rules Seminole Gaming Compact in Florida Invalid
Last week, the federal court denied the Seminole stay that sought to allow them to operate their online sports business (and other parts of the compact) while the appeal processed continued.
Based on this decision, the tribe decided to suspend their online operations. It is possible that the legislature will act on a new compact in the coming year, however, it if they did, it would unlikely include off-reservation mobile sports betting.

The ballot initiative to bring more competition to the FL sports betting market continues to gather signatures. There are legal issues surrounding the collection of signatures and claims that the Seminole tribe have tried to block signature collection. The case is currently before a Florida court.
