HB 1319 Passed the Maryland House of Delegates

March 16, 2024

HB 1319, as amended, has passed the Maryland House of Delegates 92-43. The amended version of the bill is here.

It now goes over to the Senate. The bill that was introduced in the Senate is vastly different than what passed the House today. To date, the Budget and Tax Committee Chair and the Senate President have not indicated a desire to advance legislation. However, with a HB1319 now in their chamber and with a growing need for state lawmakers to identify new revenue sources that address the budget shortfall, we are hopeful that this bill will move in the Senate with the ability to improve it along the way.

More to come soon.
