Louisiana HB639 Passes with Tax Increase on Sports Betting

The House passed an amended version of HB 639 which would increase the sports betting tax rate from 15% to 21.5%.
A previous version of the bill that passed out of Committee would have increased the tax rate to 32.5%
The bill now is in the Senate and the effort will now focus on stopping the bill in the Senate (best case) or ensuring that if the Senate does act, they do not seek to raise it further.
