MA Commission Begins Review of Category 3 Tethered License Applications

Next week, the Commission will continue their evaluation of sports wagering license applications; They have awarded the first sports wagering licenses.
The Commission also took the following actions:
- Tabled a vote on final action regarding promotional play for a later date.
- Adopted the internal controls regulation, which sets the internal standards and procedures that sports wagering operators are required to adhere to.
- Adopted the “cooling off” regulation, which is intended to allow an individual to “cool off” from sports wagering by designating themselves to a Sports Wagering Operator as temporarily prohibited from wagering. Sports Wagering Operators are required to maintain a prominent link on their platform through which individuals can sign up for cooling off.
