Maryland AG Rules Against Lottery’s Proposed Sports Betting Promo Restrictions

Last year, the Maryland Lottery proposed a new rule that would eliminate promotional deductions for sports wagering.

This was done as a way to generate more revenues from gaming to address state budget deficits. The state Attorney General has weighed in to say that this rule would violate the sports wagering statute and exceed the Lottery’s authority.
