Maryland Budget Framework Excludes iGaming and Proposes Sports Betting Tax Hike

Lawmakers have agreed on a budget framework that will guide negotiations over the next few weeks. It does not include iGaming.
The framework does include an increase in the sports betting tax rate from 15% to 20%.
Depending on final negotiations, it is unlikely that MD’s budget issues will be resolved. iGaming could still make its way into the budget, or be discussed later this year during an expected special session.
