Maryland Issues New Proposed Regulations on Sports Wagering (Link to Proposed Rules)
Maryland has issued several new proposed regulations related to sports wagering that can be found here.
The most significant proposal centers on new advertising requirements related to RG messaging. The proposed rule can be viewed here.
iDEA is continuing to engage with the regulator on their proposal to reduce the promotional deduction threshold to 5%. The rules will be put on hold through the state legislative review committee, though that is only a temporary solution. iDEA has proactively reached out to the Commission to share our concerns with the proposed amendment. While they have welcomed a meeting with us, they have suggested that it should take place after the comment window closes.
