MD Senator Watson Prepares iGaming Bill with iDEA’s Comments [Link to Bill Draft]

Working off the bills that were introduced in the House and Senate last year as the basis for this new bill, Senator Ron Watson is readying an iGaming bill for introduction.

He reached out to iDEA asking for some comments to questions he had from Legislative Counsel, which we’ve responded to. You can see our comments here.

This week, the Senator provided an updated bill which improves the tax rate, however, does not simplify the licensing structure. We’ve provided a full update on the bill that is available on the Member Portal.

The session began Jan 14. We will continue to speak with Senator Watson about making these changes. We expect that he will be dropping a final bill soon.
