Minnesota Legislature Calls Special Session on Tax Bill; Sports Betting Study Language Unlikely in Final Version

Negotiations continue on remaining unresolved budget items ahead of a special legislative session being called. One of the unresolved items is the tax bill, which previously included language (Senate version) regarding a “sports betting study” but has since been removed. During the special session, which could happen this weekend, the Legislature will only address unresolved budget issues so it is very unlikely the sports betting study language will be in the final version of the tax bill.
