Minnesota Sports Betting Bill Faces Same Committee Hurdles as Previous Attempt

Another sports betting bill was introduced. SF 3414 was introduced and referred to the State and Local Government Committee.
Earlier in the legislative session, a previous sports betting bill was heard in the State and Local Government Committee. However, the motion to advance that bill out of committee failed.
A motion was made before the full Senate that SF 3414 be withdrawn from the Committee on State and Local Government and re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection. However, the motion didn’t prevail.
The latest sports betting bill remains in the State and Local Government Committee. The issues that prevented the previous sports betting bill from advancing out of this committee still largely remain.
