MO: Bills Unlikely to See Action Next Week
Bills in the House and Senate are unlikely to see action this next week (03/21) due to other legislative priorities.
Depending on whether these other matters can be swiftly resolved, the full-House could vote on sports betting by early April.
Senate bill is awaiting approval at the Committee level, and again, unlikely to happen before end of March/early April.
Our team has been engaging with staff and lawmakers during the break to assess support. We are comfortable that there is sufficient support in the House to pass the bill.
The Senate remains a concern given Senator Hoskins attempts to also push VGT legislation with sports betting. The Senator is also pushing for higher tax rates.
We are educating members on the need to keep tax rates low and provide incentives for operators to offer bonuses, etc.
