Ohio Senate Proposes Increase of Sports Gaming Tax to 20%

The Senate’s substitute budget bill reinstated Gov. DeWine’s proposed doubling of the sports gaming tax from 10% to 20%.
With education budget negotiations being an intricate part of the process, we have been informed that a deal has been struck on education and the funding will come from either the Rainy Day Fund and the extra revenues the state has from what was originally projected in the budget estimate.
