Senator Watson Assumes iGaming Leadership Following Atterbeary’s Departure from Legislature

With Vanessa Atterbeary now out of the legislature, the likely champion for iGaming will be Senator Ron Watson.
There still remains strong opposition to iGaming and, without a strong positioned leader like Vanessa, it will be difficult to gain traction on the bill. However, due to the state being in a desperate fiscal situation again, we are told that all revenue raising bills are on the table for discussion.
The session began Jan 14. We are reaching out to our legislative contacts in MD to discuss what a Senate-led bill may look like.
