Sports Betting Bill SJR 504 Passes SD Senate

In South Dakota, legislation that would put sports betting legalization on the ballot this November passed out of the Senate 23-10.
SJR 504 requires tethering to Deadwood casinos and servers located in Deadwood. If voters approve in November, the legislature must pass implementing legislation next year.
The bill now crosses over into the House, where support is less certain. The House hearing on this bill will take place late February. iDEA will continue to monitor the legislation.
