The bills, which are identical, impose a 10% tax rate and do not provide for VLT regulation. The Committee did not pass either bill, but it is anticipated that the Committee and the House will pass at least one of the bills. As in prior years, passage in the Senate, where Sen. Denny Haskins has insisted that sports betting legalization also provide for VLTs, will be much more difficult.
