Update from North Dakota
January 10, 2023
On January 3, North Dakota Rep. Greg Stemen filed House Concurrent Resolution 3002 to amend the state constitution — which requires a public vote — to “authorize sports betting to be conducted in the state and licensed and regulated by the state.”
If approved by the legislature, the measure would be voted upon in the November 2024 general election. On January 10, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the measure. The committee recommended against passage, but the resolution is expected to nevertheless get a vote on the House floor. More background can be accessed here.
