Update on North Carolina from John Pappas
June 21, 2022
The North Carolina House Judiciary Committee is expected to debate and possibly vote on new sports wagering legislation later today. Here is the proposed substitute bill for consideration.
Many of the items we posted to the portal last week are included in this week including the adjustments to licensing fees and also changes to tax rate which increases it to 14 percent and also phases out free-play deductions.
The hearing is set to begin 10minutes after session concludes. It is not clear when that will be, but we anticipate sometime after 4pm ET. A live stream can be accessed here.
