WI Held Hearing on Senate Bill 592 (Link to Hearing)
Senate Bill 592 was subject to a legislative hearing in the Committee on Agriculture and Revenue on Nov 4. The hearing can be viewed here, with the sports betting testimony beginning at the 1:25:30 mark
At the hearing, the legislative sponsors and tribes spoke in support of the bill. A representative from the Sports Betting Alliance warned that as crafted, the proposal would limit competition and revenues.
The bill would allow sports bets made by a person located in Wisconsin using a mobile or other electronic device if the server used to conduct the wager is physically located on a federally recognized American Indian tribe’s Indian lands and if the sports wager is conducted pursuant to a compact between a tribe and Wisconsin.
