Wyoming iGaming Bill Sets Tax Rate, Permit Fees, and Tribal Prohibitions
January 17, 2025
Wyoming’s iGaming bill – HB 0162 – has been filed.
Some key takeaways from the bill include:
- Tax is 16% (excludes free play/promotions)
- Defines “qualified gaming entity” as a company that has been approved to offer iGaming in at least 3 states
- Seeks to have a minimum of 5 qualified entities approved – the Gaming Commission has confirmed that existing sports betting licenses will have streamlined path to iGaming licensure, however, they are in no way seeking to cap the market.
- $100,000 interactive gaming operator permit fee, renewal of $50,000 after 5 years
- $10,000 vendor permit fee, renewal fee of $5,000 after 5 years
- Prohibits iGaming on tribal lands unless permitted under compact
