Maine Hearing on Tribes and Internet Gaming Licenses

On January 3, Maine’s Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee held a hearing for LD 1777, sponsored by Representative Supica. This bill authorizes each federally recognized Tribe in Maine to operate an Internet gaming license that would be much like an internet casino.
Only federally recognized Tribes in Maine are eligible to obtain a license and operate Internet gaming. The licensing structure follows the law governing sports wagering. You can read a copy of the bill here.
