VA Introduces HB 161 and SB 118

In Virginia’s House and Senate, iGaming bills HB 161 and SB 118 were introduced this week. The bill sponsors were chosen by leadership as the best ones to carry the bills.

A summary of the bills can be found on the Member Portal. We expect these bills will receive committee action in the coming weeks as the session formally begins Jan 14.

iDEA is actively engaging with lawmakers in the state. We will be in Richmond for the upcoming inaugural events and also to meet with lawmakers the week of Jan 19.

We had an op-ed supporting iGaming legalization in the Richmond Times Dispatch today, a leading paper in the state. It will also run in print on Jan 11.
