- Play USA: World Series of Poker and Caesars Entertainment Announce 2025 WSOP Dates
The World Series of Poker announced its return to Las Vegas alongside Caesars Entertainment’s host properties, Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. The tournament will run from May 26 to July 16, and the $10,000 Main Event will run from July 2-16. The 2025 WSOP Main Event looks to become the third to eclipse 10,000 entrants, building on the records set in 2023 (10,043 entrants) and 2024 (10,112 entrants). Though the WSOP will return to a Caesars property in 2025, it will do so under new ownership. GGPoker purchased WSOP from Caesars for $500 million in August. GGPoker is the world’s largest online poker operator and has expanded its presence at the WSOP in recent years.
Michigan
- Play Michigan: Slots Influencer Hits Biggest Jackpot Ever During Streaming Event at MGM Grand Detroit
MGM Grand Detroit hosted an event last week involving slots influencer Brian Christopher. The planned event, which included a meet-and-greet with fans, was free to enter but required tickets. During filming, Christopher hit his all-time high jackpot worth $80,000 from a $37 bet on the Crazy Chickens slot. BetMGM has a partnership with Brian Christopher that includes live streams, exclusive experiences for their players, and a commitment to responsible gambling practices.
New Jersey
- Play NJ: Problem Gamblers Can Use The Division Gaming Enforcement’s Website To Sign Up For Self-Exclusion
New Jersey problem gamblers who want to put themselves on the retail casino self-exclusion list can do so immediately online. The Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) announced that individuals can use its website to sign up. The DGE previously made self-exclusion available by showing up at a physical casino or through a video conference. Now, NJ players can take gambling responsibly into their own hands in a much simpler way. Gamblers will have the option of a one- or five-year ban from Atlantic City casinos. Individuals must provide an online photo ID, which will be sent to each casino once they have applied.
West Virginia
- Legal Sports Report: WV Sports Betting Set To Welcome VIP Play
A new operator, VIP Play, is entering the West Virginia online casino and sports betting market. VIP Play recently announced that it has entered a deal with Delaware North’s Wheeling Island Casino. Each West Virginia casino licensee can partner with up to three branded skins. The entry into West Virginia also provides VIP Play its first market with legal online casino gambling. The press release shows VIP Play plans to expand across the US sports betting landscape in 2025.
