Johnny Hartnett and Carlos Ruisanchez were both elected as new members of the Penn Entertainment board on Tuesday morning. Penn’s board welcomed the two new directors in a release following the meeting. An 8-K with final results from the meeting will be filed “in the coming days.”

Maine

A bill legalizing online casino operators in Maine has cleared both chambers, but significant hurdles remain. The Senate placed LD 1164 on the Special Appropriations Table on Tuesday, pending enactment in concurrence by the House. House lawmakers passed it to be enacted Tuesday evening. While the passage seems encouraging for the online casino bill, significant roadblocks remain. LD 1164 would allow Maine’s tribal nations to offer online casino gambling.

Massachusetts

Massachusetts lawmakers have a hearing scheduled for next week, June 23. The Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure will examine House Bill 332 and Senate Bill 235, both of which aim to legalize, regulate, and tax online gambling in the state.

Michigan

Sixteen months after joining the Michigan iGaming market, Fanatics is finding its stride. In May, the online casino operator enjoyed its highest monthly revenue total, $10.5 million. Fanatics’ contributions helped Michigan online casinos generate an impressive $251.5 million in revenue last month, the industry’s second-best month ever, just behind March’s $260.5 million.

Missouri

DraftKings and Underdog are the first two operators to turn in their Missouri sports betting applications. A Missouri Gaming Commission spokesperson confirmed the pair of operators are the only two to turn in their applications as of Monday. Missouri sports betting is set to begin on December 1.

New Jersey

Thanks to a betting hold of 10.14% on more than $1 billion in bets, New Jersey sports betting posted an increase of 30.2% in revenue in May compared to 2024. The bulk of the $102.5 million in May 2025 sports betting revenue came from online sportsbooks, which reported $98 million of the total last month. FanDuel Sportsbook was, once again, the No. 1 sports betting platform among New Jersey sportsbooks, gathering in $44.3 million of the revenue in May, or 45%.
