Alaska HB 145 Awaits Committee Hearing as Sports Betting Decision Looms

HB 145, which would authorize sports betting in Alaska, was scheduled to be heard this week. Due to the Floor schedule, the bill remains to be heard in the House Labor and Commerce Committee.
The bill is rolled over from last year, with the sponsor of the bill serving on the Committee. HB 145 would permit up to 10 OSB licenses, with a fee of 100,000 and a tax rate of 20%.
The House Labor and Commerce Committee hearing could take place Feb 27, Mar 2 or Mar 4. iDEA is monitoring developments and have had several conversations with the bill sponsor.
