DC Sports Wagering Amendment Act to be Signed into Law

The Sports Wagering Amendment Act was included in the budget approved by the Council this week and it will be signed by the Mayor.
The new law will permit up to 7 OSBs which would need to partner with the District’s professional sports franchises. Temporary licensing is permitted which could speed the process to bring new operators and suppliers to the market. However, DC Lottery is undergoing a change with the Director departing in July, so they could drag their feet on approving new operators.
