Hawaii Sports Betting Bill Passes the Senate

Yesterday afternoon, the Hawaii Senate passed the sports wagering bill; no amendments were added on the floor.
Since the bill has changed since it passed, the House will need to concur on the Senate version. The House will likely ask for a conference committee (rather than simply concur) because it is anticipated they’ll want to make changes — we think the current 10% tax rate is especially vulnerable to be changed.
A conference committee could be appointed as soon as next week. An agreement would need to be reached as early as May 2nd.
