iDEA Leads Initiative and Illinois Legislative Session Commences
In December, Senator Cunningham introduced SB2973 that would correct supplier licensing language under the existing law. This is an iDEA-led initiative, and if enacted, will result in considerable cost saving for iDEA members who are licensed sports wagering suppliers in the state.

The Governor has signed the omnibus gaming bill that includes the March 5th expiration of in-person registration and allows for wagering on in-state collegiate sports (retail betting only).
The Illinois Gaming Board has announced that they received 3 applications for “Mobile Only” sports wagering licenses that were authorized under the 2019 law. A determination on winning bidders is expected before March, but there is no defined timeline for when these licenses will be issued.
iDEA is working to identify a House lawmaker to also introduce our Supplier Licensing language.
We continue to have meetings with lawmakers who would like to work with us on iGaming and be champions for it in the legislature in 2022.
