iDEA Meeting with New York Senator Addabbo and Request for Industry Support
iDEA spoke with Senator Addabbo this week about gaming legislation during the remainder of the legislative session. He is going to push for an expansion of sports wagering activities, such as fixed-odds horse betting and expanding the catalogue of permitted wagering events to include NASCAR, etc.
He also plans to vote his iGaming bill out of committee during a May meeting. He does not anticipate that the bill will proceed beyond his committee, but he’s using the committee meeting to build support for 2023.
Senator Addabbo has asked industry leaders to send letters of support for his iGaming bill so that he can list off numerous supporters during the May meeting. It is unlikely that they will be seeking expert testimony for the hearing, but if they do, he would like iDEA to testify.
