iDEA Submits Letter to D.C. Council

iDEA submitted a letter to the Washington, D.C., Council in support for Section 2064 of the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Support Act.
As detailed in the letter (linked here), Section 2064 provides an important clarification that the District’s antiquated gambling loss recovery statute does not apply to legal, regulated activities like sports wagering—an industry the Council has expressly authorized. This amendment is essential to protect the integrity of the District’s regulatory framework and the vital revenue it generates for public programs and charitable causes.
