IL: SB2973 Unlikely to be Called Before Adjournment
On 3/17, Chairman Rita informed iDEA (as he has done on previous occasions) that he would prefer to deal with all gaming issues in an omnibus bill to be considered in the November veto session.
We do not anticipate that he will call SB 2973 for a hearing before the legislature’s adjournment on 4/8.
We will need to work with Chairman Rita over the summer to ensure that the supplier licensing fee correction is included in any omnibus gaming bill that he attempts to put together for the November veto session. Chairman Rita has also suggested the Governor’s Office has some concern with the fee correction proposal so we need to speak with administration official on this issue.
Lastly, with Chairman Rita is planning to do an omnibus gaming bill in the November veto session, we need to begin strategizing about how to position igaming to be considered and included as part of the package.
