Illinois Omnibus Gaming Bill Not Yet Signed by Governor

December 3, 2021

The omnibus gaming bill in Illinois – that includes the March 5 expiration of in-person registration – has not yet been signed by the Governor. However, a delay between when a bill passes and when the Gov signs isn’t unusual. His deadline for signature is January 21.

If he chose not to sign, the law would go into effect without his signature. There is no threat of a veto.

iDEA has drafted new bills to address the Supplier Licensing language and we are currently speaking to key leaders in the House and Senate to serve as bill sponsors.

We continue to have meetings with lawmakers who would like to work with us on iGaming and be champions for it in the legislature in 2022.

Illinois’ next next legislative session begins on January 4, 2022.
