Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission Expected to Approve Updated Rules on Friday

August 11, 2022

The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission is expected to approve their updated rules at a Commission meeting on Friday. Yesterday, the Kansas Lottery approved their own rules, which have not been made publicly available, and have been sent to the State AG’s office for approval.

As you may know, there will be joint regulatory jurisdiction between the KRGC and the Lottery, since under law, all gaming in Kansas must be conducted through the state lottery (the casinos contract with the lottery).

A timeline for launch has not been announced. We understand that the governor is pushing for early September; however, the Lottery and KRGC have suggested it could be later in the Fall given the work still ahead for respective agencies.
