Lawsuit Filed, Challenging Sports Betting Legalization on the Missouri Ballot

A legal challenge has been filed to keep sports betting legalization off the November voter ballot.
The lawsuit is challenging the certification process of the signatures collected. Those pushing the lawsuit have not been disclosed. As shared previously, we understand that some land-based casino entities as well as the unregulated VLT industry would likely oppose the ballot measure. Current polling in the state looks like a toss up on the issue, which could be problematic should it get on the ballot and the opposition invest heavily on defeating the measure.
