Maryland iGaming Champions Retiring / Stepping Down

On Dec 11, the champion for iGaming legislation in Maryland, Del. Vanessa Atterbeary announced her retirement effective immediately so that she can focus on her election to the County Board of Supervisors. The Speaker of House, who has also supported iGaming, announced that she is stepping; a new Speaker will be voted in on December 16.
Both of these moves hamper the possibility of iGaming advancing in Maryland during the upcoming session.
