Massachusetts Senate Appoints Conferees
Following action from the House earlier this week, the Massachusetts Senate has now appointed their conferees. They include Sens. Michael Rodrigues, Eric Lesser and Patrick O’Connor. There is no timetable for when the conference committee will meet. The stated desire is for a deal to be struck ahead of the July 31 recess which ends the state’s “formal session”.
Technically, this could be dealt with during informal session (which begins in the Fall), but typically only non-controversial issues get addressed during that time.
We will work on crafting a letter to conferees outlining our position on 4 key areas of policy:
- tax rates
- collegiate betting ban
- market access
- advertising restrictions.
