MD Lottery Proposes Ending Promotional Deductions for Sports Betting and Table Games
As we shared in last week’s Weekly Update, the MD Lottery and Gaming Commission is considering significant regulatory changes that would eliminate promotional deductions for sports betting and land-based casino table games.
The proposed rules for sports wagering and table games were officially published today. We understand that this change is being driven by a broader directive from the Administration to increase state revenue across all agencies. These proposed regulations will need to be published in the Maryland Register, followed by a 30-day public comment period. The next publication of the Register is scheduled for October 4, and it’s possible that these rules will be included. iDEA intends to submit comments and engage directly with Commission staff on this matter.
