MD Senator Watson Continues to Refine Bill: iDEA in Maryland on Jan 18

Senator Watson is continuing to refine his bill, which we expect to be introduced soon. His latest version adds 5 additional licenses.
However, as written, there is likely only one entity that could meet the requirement; Urban One, a MD-based minority owned broadcast media company.
We do not believe that Sen. Watson bill will advance. Instead, there are efforts to have a new bill intro’d in the House.
On January 18, iDEA will attend a meeting in Annapolis with the Chair of the House Ways & Means Committee and other lawmakers. We are also attending a Committee briefing that day, with testimony from the state gaming regulator and the state’s problem gaming agency.
