Missouri Secretary of State’s Ruling Pushes Sports Betting Launch to Fall 2025

Some troubling developments in Missouri will likely delay the launch of sports betting.
The Secretary of State has rejected the idea that the rules are “emergency” and will force the gaming commission to operate under a traditional rule-making process. Given this determination, the submitted regulations cannot be considered final until August 30th, thereby pushing the launch of sports betting into Fall 2025 (at the earliest).
The rules will now be published on March 17 and will then be subject to a 30-day comment window. A copy of the rules that were submitted can be found here.
