Missouri Sports Teams Lead Effort to get Sports Betting on Ballot in November

Progress is being made toward collecting the signatures needed to get sports betting on the ballot this November. Missouri sports teams and some OSB operators are leading the efforts.
They must collect over 171,000 signatures by May 8 to be eligible for the ballot.
We anticipate that casinos could actively oppose the ballot initiative because it would remove their current exclusivity on gaming in the state.

There has been no advancement of legislation since Senator Hoskins has pledged to kill any bill sent to the Senate that doesn’t also legalize VLTs.
