MS HB 1518 Passes House While Facing Senate Opposition on Mobile Sports Betting

On Feb 4, HB 1518 passed the House. While similar legislation was passed in the past three legislative session in the House, they have been blocked in the Senate.
The bill amends the constitution, thereby it requires a 3/5 yes votes to pass. The Senate Gaming Chair continues to oppose mobile sports betting legalization and opposition from the NaaiG remains.
The Session adjourns April 4. iDEA will monitor developments in MS.
