New Sports Betting Bill in GA Places Oversight with GA Lottery

A new bill was introduced this week in Georgia, which removes the need for a constitutional amendment by placing regulatory oversight with the GA Lottery. We anticipate a hearing on this bill next week and a full Senate vote as soon as the week following.
Early momentum for this bill is a good sign, however, we are cognizant that, as in previous years, larger political issues between Republicans and Democrats could undo any opportunity to pass a sports wagering bill. This is magnified during what is expected to be a contentious election year.
