Ohio Casino Control Commission December Meeting
At a meeting on 12/15 the OCCC released a document outlining key areas of the bill and timelines for rules and regulations. You can find the OCCC document here. Ohio bill has been sent to the Governor and should be enacted into law by Christmas.
The Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) has begun drafting regulations and will be working with stakeholders. They have invited industry to offer recommendations during this drafting period.
In direct conversations with the OCCC, they believe it will be a challenge to have a launch date much before the end of 2022, given the requirements of the law to “universally” launch Type A, B & C licensees.
iDEA is prepared to engage with the Ohio Casino Control Commission during the regulatory process and is also evaluating what legislative “fixes” to pursue in 2022.
We are seeking an opportunity for iDEA members to do a virtual meeting with the OCCC in early January.
