Ohio CCC: Compliance Update and 2nd Universal-Start-Date App Window
Updates from the OCCC regarding compliance for Type-A and -B sports gaming and the second universal-start-date application window…
Compliance Updates
As of today, Type-A and -B proprietor and services provider applicants may start submitting certain compliance materials, including required procedures, house rules, and responsible gambling plans via the Commission’s sports gaming proprietor website. Credentials and information on how to access this website is currently being shared with applicants directly and will continue to be shared with future applicants as their applications come in. Please note that most compliance materials must be finalized (meaning both submitted and approved) by November 2 for an applicant to be eligible to start on the universal start date. For more information on compliance submission, please see the Commission’s Compliance FAQs here.
You may also wish to view the Compliance FAQs for an update that has been made regarding the Commission’s plans for the sports gaming catalogue. As you will see from that FAQ, the Commission will provide a draft of the catalogue in the fall, but is providing stakeholders with a general idea of how the catalogue will work and what wagers may be allowed.
Second USD Application Window Closes August 15
Second designated mobile management services providers and Type-C sports gaming hosts must apply by August 15 to ensure they are considered for licensure in time to launch sports gaming on January 1. To be clear, businesses who miss this deadline may still apply but are not guaranteed consideration in time to begin operations on January 1, 2023. To assist those seeking to apply for a Type-C sports gaming host license, the Commission has published tutorials, FAQs, and a checklist on its Type-C sports gaming host licensing webpage.

Stakeholders will continue to be provided updates via this listserv and the Commission’s website. The Commission remains committed to ensuring all stakeholders are provided with the same information at the same time via these resources. Please feel free to share this information as necessary to help us accomplish that goal.
