Ohio House of Reps Pushing Back on Senate’s Proposed Tax Increase on Sports Betting

Ohio’s budget conference committees began yesterday, June 22. The House of Representatives is fighting hard against the Senate’s proposed 10% tax increase. The House members are confident they can fight back the increase.
The state is looking for increased funding for education and high school sports, along with other areas. Ohio collected more tax revenues than expected in their revenue estimating conference on top of having a cash rich Rainy Day Fund, which is a supporting argument for not raising taxes on sports betting.
