Ohio Senate Hearing on S 197 Tomorrow! Substitute Bill, Analysis of Changes, and iDEA Testimony
Ohio’s Senate hearing on S 197 is tomorrow, May 22 at 9:30am (check OhioChannel.org for live stream). Earlier today, the Chairman shared a new Substitute bill, and we also received the analysis of changes since introduced.
We expect only Proponent and Interested Party testimony tomorrow; the Chair said he will not be taking testimony from Opponents at this hearing.
John Pappas will be testifying on behalf of iDEA as an Interested Party. Given our concerns with some portions of the bill, we think it’s more appropriate than to list ourselves as Proponents. The Chair is aware of our position, and is nonetheless pleased that iDEA will be on-hand to discuss the bill and lend our support for the broader issue of iGaming regulation/legalization.
