TOMORROW: Tonko, Blumenthal to Reintroduce SAFE Bet Act Addressing Sports Gambling
Members will be joined by PHAI & family impacted by problem gambling to discuss need for federal action that centers a public health approach
WASHINGTON, DC — Days before March Madness is set to begin, Congressman Paul D. Tonko (NY-20) and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) are announcing that they will hold a press conference TUESDAY, March 11th at 2:00PM to reintroduce the Supporting Affordability and Fairness with Every Bet Act, commonly known as the SAFE Bet Act. The Congressmembers will be joined by a family affected by gambling addiction as well as representatives from the Public Health Advocacy Institute (PHAI) at Northeastern University School of Law to discuss this legislation and its impact addressing sports betting with a public health approach.
