Sen. Addabbo Re-elected, Remains Chairman of Senate Gaming Committee.

Democrats will maintain control of both chambers, but Republicans made gains. In NY, Republican lawmakers have tended to be more favorable to gaming expansion. After his election Senator Addabbo told media, “First and foremost, we’ll look at iGaming. That’s the priority at this point.”
The Senator is hoping to tie iGaming to the state’s budget; however, we expect that to be difficult to achieve unless the Governor’s office is 100 percent on board. Newly elected Gov. Hochul (who replaced the ousted Cuomo) has not taken a public position on iGaming.
